Service Centers (this is the usual method) 1. Pure fee for service 2. Inside and outside rates are reviewed and approved by the Recharge Council 3. These are the only rates that can be charged until they are revised and reapproved. 4. Confidentiality, intellectual property are not considered. 5. Co-authorships or co-pi status do not exist 6. Requires detailed invoices 7. All indirect costs go to the service center Please Note: The service center does not accept Purchase Orders with Terms and Conditions. If the vendor requires a contract the Service Center has a boilerplate contract which can be used but it must go through the University and Vendor signature process and no samples will be run until the entire signature process is complete which can take up to 1 month. TAAs (Technical Assistant Agreement--Used for work not covered by Service Center) 1. Flat fee quote or lump sum – no details 2. No approval for rates 3. Processed through SRS 4. Confidentiality, intellectual property are not considered. 5. No co-authorships or co-pi status 6. No equipment purchases 7. No compliance issues such as human or animal protocols, etc. exist 8. Should not be billing federal dollars 9. No detailed invoices 10. Indirect costs are split across the University Sponsored Programs (Used for Research Projects) 1. Usually a detailed budget 2. Review and process of proposal by SRS 3. Confidentiality, intellectual property may be considered 4. Co-authorships or co-pi status may exist 5. Compliance issues such as human or animal protocols, etc. may exist 6. Requires detailed invoices 7. Indirect costs are split across the University |
